Our First Impressions
We started this unit by looking at pictures and judging people by their personal appearance. We took a survey based on pictures that were shown to us and ranked them in order. Now, you can take the survey yourself and see how you see others. Who are these people? Where do they come from? Who is the most beautiful? Who is the ugliest? Who is the richest? Who is the poorest? Who is most educated? Who is the least educated? Who looks the happiest? Who looks the saddest? Who looks the closest to me and my personal style? |
“The weirder you're going to behave, the more normal you should look. It works in reverse, too. When I see a kid with three or four rings in his nose, I know there is absolutely nothing extraordinary about that person.”

My Dream Self
If you could invent your ideal or dream self, what would you look like? What color would your hair be? How about your eyes? Would you be taller/ shorter? Would you have light skin or dark?
Because first impressions and personal appearance are so important in the world, we used our creativity to make our ideal self. The picture to the right: When I was a little girl, I used to watch a show called That Girl. It was about this very trendy, single girl who was trying to be an actress in NYC. I wanted to look just like Ann Marie, because she had the coolest clothes, shoes, and accessories. |
